Hello Peter, I am presuming this short note will come to your attention, It was so nice to meet you and Janet at my father’s funeral, apologies for not remembering you but I left Brown Edge almost 35 years ago, and was never any good at putting names to faces, but I can now remember seeing you on many occasions washing those brown buses off with that long brush outside your fathers garage, my wife Jayne who is from Biddulph says when she was young remembers asking her mum if she could go on one. But the main reason for this short note, well it started off as a short note but it’s now getting long winded!!. So to the main point, I have just read your column Back Tracks in the Brown Edge Parish news about my father Harry Turner and his best mate your father Roy Turner, it took me a while to read it fully as I started welling up with tears, as soon as I realized it was about my father, I am sure you will understand, but to get to the point thank you so much for writing this column it was really thought provoking and has brought some lovely memory’s back.
