I was sorry to read that Reg Twemlow had passed away. I remember him taking me home to my parents at least once having been 'nawty'.

I was at Leek School of Art with his son Richard in the early 70's.

Hi Mike
I remember my parents telling me the story of the plane crash during the war. They said it came down near Henridding Wood just off Broad Lane.

I remember as a kid (7 - 11) going with mates looking for it, never found any evidence though.

Found and really enjoyed the Brown Edge web site. I lived in the "miners houses " from
about 1957 until leaving for London University in 1966. I currently live in Melbourne
Australia. Two of my good friends were Stan Kapusta and John Bowler -- are they still
around ?

There have been over 5 different Chapels here in Brown Edge of which 2 are still operating. Hugh Bourne's Chapel closed and the congregation opened another chapel ie Hill Top Chapel which my ggg grandfather and his family gifted various items. If you could tell me some names of the congregation I could perhaps recognise them.

Hi,
My 3x Great Grandfather was Thomas Russell, a friend of Hugh Bourne and alos instrumental in the Primitive Methodist movement. I am currently reading his autobiography and on p.11 it says that he missioned at Brownedge, and formed a society of above a dozen members. Can anyone tell me if there is any mention of Thomas in the chapel there?

Hi Geoff just read the very interesting story about Turner's Buses and notice you are making enquiries about Dianne's friend Margaret Bourne, I know this lady very well as she became my Wife, Margaret, I must tell you cannot switch a computer on
(no interest) but you can certainly email her via myself.
May I also say that Dianne was a best friend of Margaret & Myself.
Kind regards.
Stewart
pp Margaret.
